Withdrawals...

It hasn't even been the first 72 hours on this diet and I am already starting to have the symptoms of withdrawals. Although I'm convinced that these are completely normal, I hope that the throbbing headache and tired/edgy behavior are just temporary side effects that will be looked at as small setbacks in the scheme of our challenge at the end of this 6 month period of time.

DAY 2: (even though it says I'm posting it on January 3rd, I assure you that this progress is from the second day. I just didn't have time to write all of it and post it before midnight)

I started out my morning at our gym, Frogs, with my mom. She convinced me to take one of her favorite classes with her called "Muscle Max". Despite the testosterone filled name, the class was made up of all females. It worked on the majority of your muscles from your biceps to your calves. So let's just say that I'll definitely be sore tomorrow.
Once I got home I made my own smoothie which I have a feeling is going to become a reoccurring theme during the next 6 months. I really enjoy drinking smoothies that have ripe fruit in them to misinterpret the sweet tasting fruit for sugar.

(Homemade smoothie including: blue berries, blackberries, raspberries, bananas, strawberries, water, and greek yogurt)

Then, before I went out with some of my friends to go ice skating and then to a movie, I made myself a turkey and avocado sandwich with honey mustard and one slice of cheese on whole grain bread.
My dinner tonight was the first time eating out while on this diet and it wasn't that difficult to find a sugar free alternative. Especially where we went (Rubio's) because pretty much anything on their menu is able to be substituted for a whole grain tortilla.
I have noticed that night time is when I crave sugar the most and having left over Christmas cookies laying around my kitchen doesn't aid to this temptation at all. But, I decided to trade any of those sweets that I could have easily had for a warm cup of green tea. So much rewarding and healthy than a peanut butter blossom.
