Moral support

During December when my friend Kate and I first started thinking of what to make our New Years resolutions, I specifically wanted to do something together or in a group soloey to have the accountability for one another. As of today I am realizing the perks of having that moral support.

DAY 3:

My day didn't begin until around 12:30 (unfortunately I woke up with a sore throat) when I decided I should probably get myself out of the bed to get ready because I was meeting a group of my friends at 2:00. For brunch I repeated the berry smoothie I had from yesterday, but made a smaller portion and added eggs for protein.
During the period of time I was with my friends, around 6 we all decided it was time to make dinner. Although they were very helpful in finding me something to make at their house that was sugar and white flour free I was asked the predicted questions,
"So why are you cutting out all sugar?"
"what's the point?"
etc.
I didn't take these questions offensively at all, but it was interesting to actually have to defend my choices. Either way I love them and I know they were only asking out of curiosity.

(Dinner: two chicken tacos on corn tortillas with cheese and avocados with a glass of water

One of the girls, Rachel, who is on this diet with us, was off of sugar a month prior to January so she is the one we look to for tips and advice. So, tonight I was with Kate and we were really craving sugar she was reminded of a type of ice cream that Rachel told her about that is 100% sugar free called Clemmy's
(Here's a link to their website: http://www.clemmysicecream.com/)
To my surprise it was quit delicious, tasted like real chocolate ice cream, and satisfied my sugar craving. It was really satisfying to realize that we were able to overcome the urge for sugar together and even enjoy a sweet treat that agrees with this diet.
